Pushing the envelope at this year’s Postback Conference

An insight into this year’s Postback Conference by Philip Bruno, US Associate Director of Agency Development

Postback Conference, TUNE’s client and partner event in Seattle, aims to bring together the best and brightest brands, products and acquisition marketers and is a must attend conference for the global marketing community. Attending Postback feels like the first day back at University. This year’s Postback event will feature a number of speakers from Instagram, Match Group, The Drum, VentureBeat and our very own VP of Media, Will Phung.

In-between hearing from all the pros in-session, Postback Conference is the place to have deeper conversations that yield ideas and insights for “mobile-best” success. Marketing talk aside, there is also a ton of fun to be had. Be Open! Be Social! Party! We’ll get back to the three rules of Postback shortly. But first, a little more context:

What is TUNE?

TUNE is an innovative technology company that develops tools to make mobile and digital marketing better. In essence, it makes marketing more measurable and actionable. The vision of the entire TUNE team has translated into a 300+ person, global business that has helped transform marketing.

Peter Hamilton, TUNE CEO, will tell you that until recently (“recently” in the context of both advertising and even digital marketing) mobile was not even measurable. Now more than ever, mobile is where users discover, engage and transact.

So, the integration of mobile-best practices into your marketing strategy is crucial for growth. This idea applies to both mobile leaders looking to stay ahead and the brands that need to play catch-up.

Built as a tool to facilitate and configure easy and reliable connections for advertisers, publishers and ad networks, TUNE is a key component to driving measurable success for marketing initiatives.

Why Postback?

Since its inception, Postback has been designed to facilitate useful discussions between top marketers and fellow ad tech experts. If you’re a marketer looking to configure server-to-sever data streams between your agency and media partner, Postback can help you understand your options and which technology solution would work best for you. There only three rules to Postback: Be Open! Be Social! Party! Let’s dive in.

Postback rule 1: Be open!

Will Phung is VP of Media for M&C Saatchi Performance. During his panel at Postback 2017, Will is going to be addressing a concerning trend in the digital advertising industry: Ad Fraud. Some may even find the conversation uncomfortable – what are you doing today to mitigate fraud?

At Postback, being open means taking the time to understand and apply new ideas. Will is going to share how M&C Saatchi Performance has purposefully built systems to mitigate Ad Fraud. Perhaps you can apply these ideas to your marketing initiatives, or maybe you would be open to having a further discussion with our team. You never know what you might learn until you become open.

Postback rule 2: Be social!

Being social is a two-way street. It means being open to having conversations, but it also means respecting boundaries. Postback Conference has been my favorite one since 2014 because as an agency professional, I am looking to:

  • Entertain our existing clients attending the conference
  • Meet new clients
  • Catch up with industry contacts
  • Have conversations with new suppliers who might offer a unique or exciting opportunity that would benefit our clients or agency.

Above all else, I want to have fun doing these things, and so does everybody else!
Postback rule 3: Party!

Postback keynotes often feel like a party in-and-of itself, with previous speakers including the likes of Malcom Gladwell and Ray Kurzweil. From crowd-favorite 7am yoga, to onsite happy hours, special musical performances at the Space Needle, a boat cruise and lawn party, this year’s Postback is set to be the most informative, social and fun conference yet.

M&C Saatchi Performance is an award-winning performance marketing agency with over 15 years of experience in the industry. Feel free to drop us a message to discuss about your next project. Check out Will’s presentation at the Postback Conference on July 20 and 21. See you there and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you are there.
