We’re pleased to announce that M&C Saatchi Performance have been named as Media Buying Agency of the Year at the UK Agency Awards! This is the eighth year in a row that our team have taken home an agency of the year accolade and is a great achievement for our global team.

2020 has been a difficult year for brands and agencies alike, as the predicted behaviours of consumers were turned upside down as a result of the global pandemic. With a collective displacement of everything from our social lives to locations to spending behaviour, brands had to rethink how they were connecting with their audiences. Digital became the solution for many, successfully reaching and engaging with a population stuck at home. Our expertise in performance media meant we could deliver agile and effective marketing strategies that gave clarity on investment in uncertain times.

There was as much of a challenge as a performance media agency as there was an opportunity. The amount of global online media consumed doubled in 2020 compared to the year before with the average individual spending six hours and fifty-nine minutes online. Trends that we’ve been watching for the past decade – eCommerce adoption, the dominance of mobile, shifting to advertising on digital – were rapidly accelerated creating more online engagement opportunities for brands. With this increased digital media space, we needed to cut through the noise and make sure our clients were able to connect and resonate with their most valuable audience.

By creating effective, efficient, and agile strategies, we were able to deliver another year of incremental growth for our clients. We’ve continuously challenged the norm of the advertising industry and were ready for the digital shifts that the pandemic brought about. As connected devices continue to grow, we’re always looking for the next media opportunities to help brands connect with consumers in an increasingly complex space.
