Lego Opens Up the Idea Process to Fans

LEGO is a brand that has completely embraced technology. They’ve already created the Life of George smartphone app and product, and recently built this fun Google Chrome app [Play]. Elsewhere, a “futures concept” demoed recently wonderfully showcases the potential in linking digital & physical worlds: [Watch].

So it shouldn’t really come as a surprise, that LEGO also have a crowd-sourcing product suggestion platform, LEGO CUUSOO. It’s designed on the premise that if a user suggestion gets 10,000 supporters, it will qualify to be considered for manufacture. And, if it does go through for manufacture, the user will receive 1% of any profits. Provided the platform is suitably supported by LEGO, it’s a brilliant move that should have LEGO fans across the world deeply engaged for a long time to come. Winner.
