As a Senior Business Development Manager at M&C Saatchi Performance, you will play a critical role in driving our growth initiatives in Indonesia. Reporting directly to the APAC Business Development Director, you will develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy tailored to Indonesia’s dynamic digital marketing landscape.
Your mission is to identify growth opportunities, establish meaningful connections with potential clients, and build strong, lasting relationships to drive new business. Leveraging your established network, you will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients, leading early-stage conversations and negotiating deals to completion.
This role requires a results-driven mindset, a deep understanding of Indonesia’s market, and the ability to position M&C Saatchi Performance as a leader in performance-driven media solutions.
Responsibilities
- Prospecting: Leverage your established network to engage with potential clients in key sectors. Identify and pursue new business opportunities through in-depth research, networking, and market analysis.
- Networking: Actively attend industry events to build connections with marketing and tech leaders and stay updated on market trends.
- Outreach: Develop and implement a consistent outreach strategy to maintain a healthy sales pipeline and proactively secure meetings and drive new opportunities.
- Client Engagement: Build and sustain strong relationships with key decision-makers, understanding their specific advertising and performance marketing needs to provide tailored solutions.
- Sales Presentations: Prepare and deliver customized sales presentations, case studies and proposals that clearly articulate M&C Saatchi Performance’s unique value proposition.
- Pipeline Management: Oversee the sales pipeline from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure, ensuring a steady flow of opportunities and smooth progression through each sales stage.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with our media, creative, data, marketing and specialist teams to align on client needs and deliver seamless campaign execution.
- Contract Coordination: Manage contract coordination between clients, legal teams, management, and finance to ensure timely and accurate completion of agreements.
- CRM Management: Utilize CRM software (Hubspot) to maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, pipeline activities, and deal progression
- Reporting and Projections: Provide regular updates and insights on sales activities, revenue performance, and market conditions. Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual projections to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Revenue Growth: Meet or exceed annual revenue targets through effective lead conversion.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior business development team member.
Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in business development or sales in the digital sales sector. Experience in an agency is beneficial but not essential
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.
- Deep understanding of digital marketing market trends and various media channels.
- Proficiency in tech solutions relevant to the market.
Skills
- Proven experience in a senior business development or sales role within digital marketing, advertising, or a related industry.
- An established network of decision-makers and influencers in Indonesia’s marketing or business sectors.
- Strong understanding of performance marketing and the digital advertising ecosystem in Southeast Asia.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrate a resilient attitude by handling rejection or setbacks with professionalism while maintaining a positive outlook
- Results-driven mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets.
- Highly self-motivated and proactive, capable of taking initiative and working independently without constant supervision
- Experience in CRM/sales software, such as Hubspot
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia, with cultural sensitivity to the Indonesian market.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Tenacious and determined in pursuing leads and opportunities, with a strong willingness to overcome obstacles and challenges.
Reporting Structure
- You will report directly to the Business Development Director, APAC, whilst working as a part of the Regional Business development team.
- You will manage a Business Development Executive who reports to this role.
